Privacy & Marketplace Safety Notice
Version: 9 September 2026 — supplier-request update. This notice explains BuyMekato’s marketplace-safety, student-verification and measurement practices. It supplements the general Terms and Privacy Policy.
Information used to operate the marketplace
BuyMekato processes account details including date of birth and adult-confirmation time, listings, photographs, bids, supplier requests, quotations, messages, payment references, reports, and security records needed to provide the platform, enforce its 18+ restriction, review content, match relevant suppliers, prevent abuse, resolve reports, and comply with lawful requests. Users must not publish another person’s private information without authority.
Supplier requests and quotation privacy
An approved request’s title, description, quantity or scope, general delivery area, budget if supplied, deadline and quotation count may be public. The buyer’s email address, phone number and private street address are not intentionally displayed in the public request. Supplier quotations are visible to the buyer, the supplier who submitted them and authorised administrators; they are not displayed as a public price list. When a buyer accepts a quotation, BuyMekato may connect those two accounts so they can agree the transaction details.
Student verification documents
The Student Seller discount is only for current students who are at least 18. An applicant may upload one current student card, registration letter or fee statement. BuyMekato does not request a national ID copy for ordinary student-plan verification. The document is stored in private server storage, is available only to authorised administrators, and is deleted after approval or rejection. BuyMekato retains the decision, institution, review date and verification expiry for administration and abuse prevention. Applicants should cover unrelated financial details before upload.
Analytics and device information
If you choose “Accept analytics,” BuyMekato may use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, auction funnels, browser, operating system, screen size, and broad device category such as mobile, desktop, or tablet. BuyMekato does not intentionally send names, email addresses, bank references, passwords, bid-form contents, or precise street addresses to analytics. You may choose “Essential only” and continue using the site.
Fraud prevention and account action
BuyMekato may verify payment references, moderate listings and messages, rate-limit bidding, preserve relevant records, reject or remove content, and suspend accounts where there is a reasonable safety, fraud, legal, or policy concern. Users should report counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, misleading, non-delivered, or suspicious items through official support channels.
Your choices and requests
You can update your account details and analytics choice. Contact BuyMekato through the official contact form or phone/WhatsApp +264 81 325 5089 to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, or to raise a privacy or safety concern. Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for transactions, fraud prevention, disputes, legal obligations, or the establishment and defence of legal claims.
Security limitations
No online service can promise absolute security. Use a unique password, keep one-time PINs private, confirm cleared funds before handover, and communicate through BuyMekato where possible. BuyMekato will never ask for an online-banking password or card PIN.
Creations Industrial Design CC should have this notice and the general site policies reviewed by a qualified Namibian legal practitioner before launch and after material business changes.
